MEMSIC Forms Strategic Partnership with NSD Auto Industry Association, Exploring New Industrial Growth in the AI Era
Release Time:2026.07.13
On July 12, the closed-door in-depth forum themed AI and Global Expansion: The Second Growth Curve for Enterprises, hosted by the Auto Industry Association of the National School of Development at Peking University (NSD), was held at Chengze Garden of NSD. As a strategic partner of the event, MEMSIC (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. participated in the forum. Gao Rui, Vice President of MEMSIC, attended and delivered a speech.

Centered on core topics including AI, overseas expansion and enterprises’ second growth curve, the forum carried out in-depth discussions on shifts in global industrial cycles, the reshaping of industrial organizations and business models driven by AI, as well as global operation pathways for Chinese enterprises. Bringing together scholars from NSD, representatives of automotive industry chain enterprises and industry experts, this high-quality small-scale closed-door event fostered idea exchanges and resource connectivity between academia, industry and corporate management teams.
The National School of Development at Peking University (NSD) is a multidisciplinary institute of Peking University rooted in economics, integrating teaching, research and think-tank functions. It was selected into China’s first batch of top-tier national think tanks in 2015. The NSD Auto Industry Association is a professional alumni organization under the institute focusing on automotive industry development. It aims to build a platform for alumni exchange and resource sharing within the automotive sector and facilitate in-depth industry-university-research collaboration.
At the event, Gao Rui spoke on behalf of MEMSIC. Drawing on the company’s decades-long technological accumulation and industrial practice in MEMS sensing, he shared MEMSIC’s insights into industrial opportunities in the AI era, global layout and trends in automotive intelligence. As a specialist deeply engaged in MEMS sensing technologies, MEMSIC has in recent years continued to roll out products and application solutions for automotive, industrial, consumer electronics, smart home, medical and wearable use cases.

In his address, Gao Rui stated that AI is evolving from technological innovation toward deep industrial integration. Sectors including automobiles, robots, smart terminals and industrial equipment will serve as key fields for AI implementation. In this process, sensors act as the critical gateway linking the physical world and intelligent systems, and will play an increasingly fundamental role when smart devices perceive environments, interpret motion, and realize interaction and control.
Gao Rui pointed out that industrial opportunities in the AI era lie not only in computing power and algorithms, but also in systematic upgrades of underlying capabilities such as sensing, control and actuation. With accelerated adoption of intelligent vehicles, humanoid robots and AI-enabled terminals, MEMS sensors are evolving from conventional functional components into foundational building blocks for intelligent systems. For sensor manufacturers, product reliability, mass delivery capacity, scenario adaptability and continuous innovation capability will be the cornerstones sustaining long-term industrial growth.
Regarding enterprises’ second growth curve, Gao Rui mentioned that amid the reshaping of the global industrial landscape and a new round of technological revolution, Chinese semiconductor companies must persist in breakthroughs of core technologies while continuously improving global service capabilities. MEMSIC will continue to advance the deployment of MEMS sensing technologies in more intelligent terminals and industrial scenarios based on customer requirements and application environments, and help customers build future-oriented competitiveness through technological innovation and industrial collaboration.
