1999

March – MEMSIC is founded by Dr. Yang Zhao and established in Andover, Massachusetts based on his innovative thermal accelerometer technology.

 

Nov – Production facilities are set up in Wuxi, China.

2001

May – The biaxial accelerometer is developed and mass production is commenced.

2002

Dec – The company passes TS16949 quality system certification.

2003

Jan – MEMSIC’s sensors take the US, European and Japanese high-end market by storm.

2004

Jan – MEMSIC’s China manufacturing facilities move into its newly constructed manufacturing building with over 45,000 square feet floor space located in Wuxi New District, Wuxi, China

2005

Jan – The Company passes ISO14001 environment system certification.
  March – The Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer sets the world record for fastest non-interrupted circumnavigation of the world using the AHRS system for guidance.
  Sep – The tri-axial accelerometer is developed and mass production is commenced.

2006

May – MEMSIC establishes an IC design center in Chicago.
  Jun – The company sets up offices in Shenzhen and Shanghai
  Oct – The AHRS510 achieves FAA certification making it the first MEMS product of its kind to be certified as a primary instrument.

2007

Jan – MEMSIC establishes the MEMS R&D institute in Wuxi, China.

 

Dec – MEMSIC Inc. becomes the first MEMS Company ever to be listed on the NASDAQ.

2008

Jan – The eKo Pro Series line of environmental monitoring products is introduced, a revolutionary wireless platform targeting at precision agriculture and urban monitoring.
  Jul – The AHC525 provides single-card AHRS capability without external aiding.
  Aug – MEMSIC is showcased on the world stage as viewers watched 100,000 waving torches using MEMSIC’s accelerometers at the monumental Beijing Olympics opening ceremony.
  Dec – The company releases new magnetic sensors into production.

2009

Aug – MEMSIC brings new level of motion-game integration to cell phone manufactures.

 

Oct – The EcoWizard energy monitoring system is announced enabling wireless intelligent energy conservation

2010

Jan –Memsic completes the succesful acqusition of Crosbow Technologies Inertial and Wireless Sensor system product lines and adds strategic assets - including an operational base for the company in Silcon Valley.

 

Mar – The Company completes and expands new manufacturing and R&D facility in Wuxi, China to 224,000 square feet.

 

Mar – The Company establishes MEMSIC Transducer Systems (MTS) CO, Ltd in Wuxi, China to handle manufacturing and fulfillment of Systems products acquired from Crossbow.
